This policy explains what information WhatxTime processes when you use the website, browser extension and API.
Information we process
- Server logs: the page or API endpoint requested, response status and time taken. IP addresses are converted into a one-way keyed hash for abuse prevention and rate limiting; we do not store your IP address in our logs.
- Saved cities and preferences: “My cities” and display preferences are stored in your own browser (local storage) and are not sent to us except as part of an ordinary request for a city’s time.
- Contact form: the name, email address and message you send, kept so we can reply.
- Location: if you choose “use my location”, your browser shares an approximate position with the page to suggest the nearest city. It is not stored.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use a strictly necessary session cookie for security. If analytics or advertising are enabled, they load only after you accept non-essential cookies in the consent banner. See our cookies and advertising disclosure.
Retention
Logs are kept for up to 30 days. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
You can ask us to access or delete information you sent us by using the contact page.
